New Turn Ventures

New Turn Ventures Project

NTV Sports Project award winner – Faye Hill

Funded by schools and local education authorities, we offer vocational training for young people in school years 10 & 11, who for various reasons are not participating in the full range of school activities.

We aim to provide young people the opportunity to address their personal needs and achieve their goals. In this work we liaise closely with young people, their parents/carers and schools to provide an individual support network and a safe environment to work and learn. We offer support and help with:

  • NVQ related qualifications
  • Computer training
  • Maths and English GCSE
  • Literacy and numeracy qualifications
  • Dyslexia  and additional learner support
  • Personal development and confidence building
  • Certificates in First Aid, Health and Safety and Manual Handling
  • Vocational taster sessions in 5 areas; Childcare, Construction, Motor Mechanics, Retail and Sports.
  • Outdoor pursuit residentials, sports and other activities
  • Travel expenses
  • PSHE and citizenship
  • Student support for housing, life and personal issues
  • Educational Visits

Attendance is full time or part time with agreement from your school. Camden Jobtrain's NTV Programme was re-launched during 2006 / 07 with programme now being available through themes of motor vehicles, carpentry/construction, sport, childcare and ICT.
